Job summary

GOTAFE is seeking a part-time intern to assist in daily finishing process monitoring (plating, powder coat, e-coat, anodizing) and data collection. You will support root-cause investigations, small improvement projects, and documentation efforts.

You will shadow maintenance, materials, and production planning teams while contributing to Cp/Cpk analyses and basic charts. You will gain hands-on manufacturing experience, interact with company leaders, and participate in mentoring relationships to

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Familiar with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and eager to learn process-control software.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter who can manage multiple small tasks under supervision.
• Willingness to collaborate cross-functionally in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily monitoring of finishing processes (plating, powder coat, e-coat, anodizing).
• Gather and organize process data (bath chemistry, line speed, quality metrics) for review.
• Support root-cause investigations for out-of-spec conditions with guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in small improvement projects (rinse cycles, fixture designs).
• Help maintain process docs (work instructions, SOPs, batch records) and update logs.
• Shadow cross-functional teams in maintenance, materials management, and production planning.
• Contribute to process capability studies by collecting data, calculating Cp/Cpk, and preparing charts.
• Present findings and recommendations at intern roundtables or team meetings.

• Help maintain process documentation including work instructions, SOPs, and batch records, and update logs.
• Shadow cross-functional teams in maintenance, materials management, and production planning.
• Contribute to process capability studies by collecting sample data, calculating Cp/Cpk, and preparing simple charts.
• Present findings and recommendations at intern roundtables or team meetings.

About You
