Job summary

Micron Technology invites a highly motivated summer intern to contribute to spectroscopy and nanoscale characterization projects in our Chemistry Lab. You will work on semiconductor thin films, surfaces, and interfaces, applying spectroscopy-based methods and data analytics within an industrial laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical/Electrical/Optical Engineering) at least at junior level.
• Basic knowledge of spectroscopy, microscopy, materials characterization, or semiconductor materials.
• Hands-on experience with at least one analytical technique (e.g., fluorescence, Raman, FTIR).
• Experience using data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, Origin, or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments using spectroscopy and microscopy to characterize semiconductor materials.
• Collect, process, and interpret spectroscopy data and develop visualization workflows.
• Correlate spectroscopic signatures with material properties and process conditions.
• Use AI-enabled tools to support literature reviews, data analysis, and documentation.
• Maintain laboratory documentation and deliver a final technical report and presentation.
