Job summary

Steelcase is hiring a 2027 Summer Interior Design Intern to join our Global Design team in Grand Rapids. You will work on real projects from concept through execution, collaborating with experienced designers and cross-functional partners across North America and beyond.

You’ll develop interior design concepts, create space plans and specifications, and build digital models using SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, and other tools. Housing/relocation support available for eligible interns.

Qualifications

• Portfolio required for consideration.
• Currently enrolled in a degree program and returning to school after internship.
• Available to work onsite full-time during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts that enhance customer experiences and support project goals.
• Create space plans, design studies, and specifications for furnishings, finishes, and materials.
• Build digital models, visualizations, and presentation materials using industry-standard tools.
• Collaborate with interior designers and cross-functional partners to bring projects from concept through execution.
• Support design documentation, material sourcing, prototype development, and project installations.
