Job summary

Steelcase Inc. in Grand Rapids invites a 2027 Summer Interior Design Intern to join our Global Design team.

You will contribute to real projects from concept through execution, developing interior design concepts, space plans, and specifications for furnishings and finishes. You’ll build digital models and presentations using SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, CET Designer or Enscape, and collaborate with experienced designers to bring projects from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field at an accredited institution.
• Actively enrolled in a degree-seeking program at the time of application and returning to school following the completion of the internship.
• Portfolio required for consideration.
• Availability to work onsite full-time throughout the summer internship period.
• This position involves frequent local travel, and reliable transportation is strongly preferred.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The company will not offer sponsorships or work visas now or in the future for this role

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts that enhance customer experiences and support project goals.
• Create space plans, design studies, and specifications for furnishings, finishes, and materials.
• Build digital models, visualizations, and presentation materials using industry-standard design tools.
• Collaborate with interior designers and cross-functional partners to bring projects from concept through execution.
• Support design documentation, material sourcing, prototype development, and project installations.
