Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Intern for the summer of 2027 to gain hands-on experience in HR functions under the supervision of seasoned HR staff. You will participate in projects across HR disciplines and support daily administrative tasks.

Key duties include creating position descriptions, managing HRIS activities, assisting with interviews, training, and maintaining records. This internship offers college credit and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
• Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain position descriptions for all departments within the organization.
• Perform HRIS activity on our HR systems for various uses such as applicant tracking, reviewing resumes, updating requisitions, and handling confidential employee information.
• Schedule and conduct interviews for salaried and hourly positions.
• Perform research and assistance for various HR projects as needed.
• Assist in company training, such as new hire orientation and safety training.
• Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records.
• Completing any other assigned projects or tasks as necessary.

Education

Sophomore status pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management
