Job summary

Benchmark Construction Company invites you to join our Summer Internship Adventure in Maryland. This hands-on program places you on real projects, with the same responsibilities as full-time staff, supported by a dedicated coach and a culture built on Hungry, Humble, and Smart.

You will coordinate on site, help with schedules, manage paperwork, and uphold safety standards while learning from seasoned superintendents and PMs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on construction knowledge and a strong willingness to learn.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; quick to pick up new computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong teamwork and adaptability on busy job sites.

Responsibilities

• Jobsite Coordination: Work alongside a Superintendent to lay out the project for general trades and subcontractors; direct and coordinate activities for the team and trade partners.
• Scheduling: Collaborate with the Superintendent and PM to plan and maintain work schedules; assist in daily logs, timesheets, 3-week schedules, and safety meetings.
• Paperwork Coordination: Handle shop drawings, progress photos, submittals, site deliveries; keep meticulous records including performance evaluations.
• Quality & Safety: Explain plans to the team and subs; update as-built drawings; participate in Safety Committee and promote safety culture.
• Collaboration: Attend Superintendent meetings and Turnover Meeting; contribute insights on manpower and project schedules.
• Project Kickoff: Participate in kickoff meetings focusing on resources, safety, quality control, staffing, and training.
