Job summary

Chesapeake Contracting Group seeks Construction Interns to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry across Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. You'll work in field or office settings and receive guided mentorship while contributing to project delivery.

This internship offers exposure to diverse markets, opportunities for advancement, and access to state-of-the-art technology and new office spaces.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Construction Management or Engineering degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Willing to adapt to changing project needs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager with planning, budgeting, and execution tasks.
• Attend on-site walkthroughs and track construction progress.
• Identify safety or quality concerns and report them.
• Participate in hands-on construction tasks with skilled labor.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure timely material delivery.
• Help process change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
• Support estimating team and keep daily records.
• Maintain professional communications with stakeholders.
