Job summary

Kiewit invites motivated students to join the Northwest District as a Field Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. You’ll gain hands-on experience in field engineering, planning, cost control, scheduling, and procurement across multiple project sites in Vancouver, WA and other U.S.

locations. The program emphasizes safety, ethics, and teamwork while developing real construction-management skills on challenging projects.

Qualifications

Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related.
Willingness to travel/relocate as needed.
Available for full-time during summer (June–August).

Responsibilities

Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, and supervision of field activities.
Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and address minor problems during construction.
Maintain records of job progress, costs, and material usage.
Plan and schedule job segments.
Investigate problems; propose solutions/alternatives.
Review plans and specifications for material quantities and pricing.
Coordinate with suppliers to expedite material delivery.
