Job summary

Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. in Mayodan, NC (onsite) offers a Summer Engineering Internship starting in May and ending in August. The internship provides a competitive hourly wage based on experience, with weekly pay and overtime as needed, plus a housing stipend.

You will gain exposure to CNC milling/turning, PLC programming, GD&T, Kaizen, and production-line projects, mentored by engineers. A summer project will be assigned and reviewed with peers, with potential for full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Sophomore year completed and enrolled in an accredited engineering program.
• Must be willing to relocate temporarily to Ruger facilities for the internship.
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week and perform hands-on engineering tasks.
• CAD or modeling experience required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a mentor on the manufacturing line and complete a summer project.
• Design and build a project that will be implemented into production.
• Participate in design reviews, production planning, and process improvements.
• Shadow production teams and assist with tooling and measurement tasks.
