Job summary

Standard Textile in South Carolina seeks a Summer Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week program focused on improving operational efficiency in a manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production teams to identify process improvements in the Terry Towel and Sheeting departments while supporting plant-wide projects that enhance productivity, automation and overall performance.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of completed coursework in an accredited Engineering Program.
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Suite skills (primarily Excel).
• AutoCAD 2D experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated systems for plant activities.
• Implement Maintenance Work Order system and train operators.
• Improve / streamline production tracking reports.
• Support plant meetings and training to aid operations.
• Assist in LEAN events to drive continuous process improvements.

The Summer Engineering Intern will participate in a 10–12-week internship focused on improving operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. The intern will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to identify process improvements in the Terry Towel and Sheeting departments while supporting plant-wide projects that enhance productivity, automation, and overall operational performance.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop automated systems related to current activities that are performed manually in the plant.
• Implement Maintenance WO system and provide training to machine operators and maintenance department.
• Improve / streamline current method of production tracking reports.
• Participate in various meetings and training to support the plant.
• Additional responsibilities assigned as needed.
• Assist in LEAN events that are designed to drive continuous process improvements throughout the plant.

Qualifications Include:
