Job summary

Notre Dame is seeking a summer intern to perform numerical analysis of underground structures and provide engineering support at Notre Dame. You will develop and assess numerical modeling pre- and post-processing workflows, and create specialized scripts and software utilities using Python, C++, VBA, or other programming languages.

The role requires enrollment in an engineering BS or advanced degree program, strong computer skills, familiarity with CAE software and 3D CAD, and excellent

Qualifications

Enrollment in a BS or advanced degree in engineering field.
Strong computer skills with spreadsheets and office software.
Familiarity with CAE software for FEA and pre-/post-processing; 3D CAD preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Self-motivation.
Knowledge of a high-level programming language preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform numerical analysis of underground structures.
Develop and assess modeling pre- or post-processing workflows.
Create scripts/tools using Python, C++, or VBA.
Provide engineering support and conduct data analysis.
Work 40 hours per week during the summer of 2026.
