Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Summer Electrical Engineer Intern for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This role supports design, fabrication, and modification of electrical and electro‑mechanical components, sub-systems and systems across various projects.

Ideal candidates will show strong technical skills, good judgment, and the ability to communicate with teammates from different disciplines. The internship provides meaningful hands‑on experience and a flexible work schedule.

Qualifications

• Currently a junior or higher in a bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Preferred 1+ related internship, co-op, or industry experience.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand commercial and military electrical drawings.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Support and participate in technical electrical engineering activities.
• Perform system- and component-level design and integration tasks including block diagrams, detailed design, simulation, debugging and test.
• Develop electrical systems documentation and perform analysis and modifications.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and design corrective modifications as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering team to conceptualize systems and electrical designs.
• Create custom fixtures for test, evaluation and manufacturing of electrical equipment.
• Provide progress status for electrical design assignments periodically.
• Participate in resolution of technical issues with customers and suppliers.
