The Salvation Army in Springfield, Ohio is seeking Day Camp Counselors for a seasonal full-time six-week program. Counselors lead activities, supervise campers, and ensure safety and a positive camp experience.
Responsibilities include training participation, activity planning, assisting with meals, and supporting children with diverse needs. Valid driver’s license and Fleet Safety Test are required.
REPORTS TO: Day-camp Driver/Counselor
SUPERVISES: no employees
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Seasonal full-time, 35-40 hours based on program needs for the duration of the six-week program.
FUNCTION: The Day Camp Counselors are responsible for providing the campers with a safe, enriching, and fun program. The counselors are the primary caregivers and program leaders for the campers or program participants. It is expected that the counselor will actively participate/interact with the children. They will also be expected to assist the children with activities, including dressing for the pool and/or using the restroom, as the participants’ disabilities demand.
