Itron is seeking a motivated 2027 Summer Data Science Intern to contribute to utilities and energy projects by supporting data and machine learning pipelines, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and helping with cloud infrastructure. Ideal candidates are enrolled in relevant bachelor’s programs, have at least two years of coursework completed, and possess Python, SQL, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in statistics, data science, applied mathematics, computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• Completion of at least two years of college coursework by internship start date.
• Experience using AI agent‑driven tools to support software development or testing.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, maintenance, and optimization of data and ML pipelines in production.
• Assist with cloud-based infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
• Clean, prepare, and validate large datasets for analysis and model development.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists and engineers to perform EDA and communicate insights clearly.
