Job summary

Itron invites motivated students to join its Distributed Intelligence Data Science team as a 2027 Summer Data Science Intern in Liberty Lake, WA. The role focuses on building and refining data and ML pipelines, with exposure to cloud infrastructure and cross‑functional collaboration.

Start May/June 2027 and finish August/September 2027, for 10 weeks at 40 hours per week. Ideal candidates are pursuing a related bachelor’s degree with at least two years completed, have Python/SQL skills, and show

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field; completion of at least two years of college by start date.
• Experience with AI agent‑driven tools for software development or testing is desirable.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, and knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of data and ML pipelines in production.
• Assist with cloud-based infrastructure deployment and upkeep.
• Prepare and validate large datasets for analysis and model development.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver solutions.
• Contribute to research, testing, and improvement of ML models.
