Job summary

Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance invites undergraduates to join its 2027 Summer Internship Program, with placements in Missouri, Arkansas, or Mississippi. This paid internship runs May 17–August 6, up to 40 hours per week, and may lead to a full-time position.

Interns will shadow Territory Sales Managers, gain expertise in MPCI vs Private products, and observe claims processes. A capstone presentation and exposure at FMH Home Office in West Des Moines, IA are included.

Qualifications

• Must be currently-enrolled sophomore, junior, or senior at a college or university majoring in Agriculture (May 2027 graduates will not be eligible).
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills are necessary.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops customer relationships by observing interaction between Territory Sales Managers, Agents, customers, and peers.
• Gains understanding of MPCI vs Private Product within crop insurance.
• Observes and assists with Multi-Peril and Private Product claims and adjusting process.
• Gains background knowledge on FMH's operations and industry role.
• Learns agricultural practices and crops across regions of the country.
