Job summary

Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company invites motivated undergraduates to join its 2027 Summer Internship Program in Minnesota, South Dakota, or North Dakota. This paid internship runs May 17 through August 6, up to 40 hours per week, with the potential to turn into a full-time, permanent position later.

You will gain exposure to MPCI vs Private products, assist with claims, shadow Territory Sales Managers, and learn about crop production, agricultural practices, and FMH’s business operations

Qualifications

• Must be an enrolled undergraduate (sophomore, junior or senior) in Agriculture (May 2027 graduates ineligible).
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer relationships by observing interactions between Territory Sales Managers, Agents, customers and peers.
• Learn differences between MPCI and Private Products in crop insurance.
• Observe and assist with Multi-Peril and Private Product claims and adjustment processes.
• Gain background knowledge on FMH’s operations and industry role.
• Understand agricultural practices and crops across regions of the country.
