Job summary

The Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Credit Analyst Intern Summer Program invites students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to gain hands-on experience in evaluating creditworthiness. This full-time internship runs May 17 through July 23, with a potential extension and a final presentation in New Orleans on July 22.

Interns analyze credit data and financial statements, generate ratios, prepare risk assessments, and support commercial lenders with loan decisions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Business majors preferred.
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures applications are accurate and complete.
• Evaluates credit data and financial statements to determine risk when extending credit or lending money.
• Generates financial ratios using computer programs to evaluate customers’ financial status.
• Prepares reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
• Completes credit analyses and summaries of loan requests and submits to the commercial lender.
• Performs other duties and special projects as needed.
