McKinstry Co. , LLC is offering a Summer Internship for 2027 in Austin, TX. We’re seeking a Construction Project Engineer Intern to join our construction team, with hands-on experience, mentorship and a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering, with strong communication and organizational skills. Availability May/June to Aug/Sep, part-time after summer preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or have a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Sophomore standing or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients and project resources and document discussions, outcomes and decisions.
• Coordinate equipment procurement with purchasing and vendors.
• Support the RFP process.
• Work with internal and external teams on site.
• Attend team management meetings.
• Coordinate with McKinstry subcontractors and routing of correspondence.
• Communicate with Project Manager and Project team for daily duties.
• Maintain drawings and logs and reports (RFIs, submittals, daily reports).
• Assist in client and subcontractor change orders.
• Create RFIs and distribute submittals.
• Publish Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
