Fres-co System USA, Inc. in San Diego, CA is offering an Assistant Project Engineer (2027 Summer Intern) position within the Internship department.

This entry-level role supports the project team with administrative and engineering tasks on a construction project. You will gain hands-on experience with CMiC, PlanGrid, and document control while assisting with logs, submittals, RFIs, meetings, and closeout activities.

Qualifications

• This is an entry-level position designed for undergraduate students and current employees who desire to grow into a management role (project management, superintending, scheduling, safety, etc.)
• Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Basic understanding of scheduling and CMiC applications
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Understanding of construction admin processes incl. docs, schedules, RFIs, submittals and procurement

Responsibilities

• Assist with job office set up
• Assist CMiC initial setup and Submittal Log Registry
• Prepare and maintain Submittal Logs
• Set up PlanGrid to organize contract documents
• Assist in managing progress photo documentation via PlanGrid
• Enter RFIs in CMiC and distribute to team
• Prepare and maintain RFI Logs in CMiC
• Post RFIs to Contract Documents and maintain as-builts
• Update Material Procurement Log and expedite procurement of materials/equipment
• Compile closeout documents (O&M manuals, As-Builts)
• Attend project meetings and distribute minutes
• Create and organize closeout binders
• Assist with meeting minutes as needed
