Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. invites students to join the 2027 HITT Futures Internship Program in Commercial Construction.

The 10-week summer internship provides mentorship, hands-on learning, and networking opportunities to prepare you for a career as a construction superintendent or project manager. Expect to work about 40 hours per week from 5/24/2027 to 8/05/2027, collaborate with project managers and superintendents, and engage in site activities, document control, and safety and quality

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in construction, engineering, or business.
• Previous industry internship, volunteer work, or work experiences is a plus.
• Passion for construction and general contracting industry.
• Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to learn project-specific software systems (Microsoft Office 365, Procore, Adobe, BlueBeam).
• Exceptional customer and client focus with ability to succeed in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Support various aspects of project delivery alongside project managers and superintendents.
• Assist with subcontractors and supplier coordination, material tracking, and file management.
• Contribute to document control processes, including drafting submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Support the preparation of bid packages and assist in soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids.
• Aid in progress reporting and updates for internal teams and client communication.
• Assist with jobsite responsibilities such as reviewing construction drawings, verifying site conditions, coordinating trades, and supporting safety and quality control efforts.
