Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc is offering a Commercial Construction Intern - Summer 2027 as part of the HITT Futures Program. The 10‑week internship provides hands-on learning, mentorship, and opportunities to network with industry professionals while supporting project delivery.

The program runs 5/24/2027 – 8/5/2027 in a paid internship format. You will work with project managers and superintendents, gain exposure to coordination, bid preparation, and site activities, and develop software skills through

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in construction, engineering, or business.
• Previous internship, volunteering or work experience is a plus.
• Passion for construction and general contracting industry.
• Ability to work ~40 hours per week for the 10‑week program.
• Proficiency with project software (MS Office 365, Procore, Adobe, BlueBeam).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support various aspects of project delivery alongside project managers and superintendents.
• Assist with subcontractor and supplier coordination, material tracking, and file management.
• Contribute to document control: drafting submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Assist in preparing bid packages and evaluating subcontractor bids.
• Aid in progress reporting and client communications.
• Help with site responsibilities: reviewing drawings, site conditions, coordinating trades, safety and quality control.
• Engage in networking and professional development opportunities.
