Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Communications Intern for Summer 2027 to support our internal and external communications efforts within the healthcare technology sector. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in corporate communications and a unique opportunity to engage with executives and cross-functional teams.

The role is a full-time, 10-week program based out of Texas, Georgia, or Virginia, with networking, coaching, and exposure to subject matter experts.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related field.
• Expected graduation date Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting, editing and proofreading communications materials (internal announcements, press releases, website content, social media posts, presentations).
• Support planning and execution of internal and external communication campaigns and events.
• Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities and media coverage for strategies.
• Manage and update content on internal platforms and external digital channels.
• Collaborate with departments to gather information and ensure messaging consistency.
• Assist with media monitoring and reporting on communications effectiveness.
• Provide general administrative support to the Communications team.
