Job summary

Bowman Consulting seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Lincoln, Nebraska team for Summer 2027. The role focuses on introductory design and development of traffic, water, storm and sanitary sewer studies, and construction plans.

You will work under supervision across departments and participate in intern program learning opportunities. Responsibilities include assisting with site grading, CAD drafting, field inspections, and construction administration tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience.
• Enrolled in community college courses, a college degree program, or formal continuing education program.
• Focus on civil engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site grading, erosion and sediment control design, CAD design and drafting, storm water management design, water treatment, traffic analysis and/or utility design.
• Assist with field inspections.
• Observe and participate in construction administration (RFI/Submittal) responsibilities.
