Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Earth & Environment Civil Team in Lakewood, CO or Madison, WI. This full-time internship, part of the Summer Internship Program, runs for 12 weeks starting May 17, 2027, for students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate civil engineering programs.

You will gain hands-on experience, work with senior staff, and participate in a mentorship network while developing technical and professional skills in a real project

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering degree program with an anticipated Aug 2027 or later graduation date.
• Demonstrated interest in Site/Civil/Land Development and desire to advance skills on projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology and tools.
• U.S. work authorization at internship start date.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic Civil Engineering principles.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
