Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus is seeking a Camp Hoover Director to lead the summer program featuring waterfront and pool activities, ropes, archery, and classic camp adventures. You will oversee camper wellbeing, staff development, and program quality while partnering with the year-round Children and Camp Services team.

The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and excellent communication with families, staff, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in education, recreation, social work, or related field.
• Two to five years of leadership experience at a day camp or similar program.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain before start of summer.
• Familiarity with ACA standards and Ohio DCY licensing requirements, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of Camp Hoover, including camper wellbeing and staff development.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise summer staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Design and implement creative, engaging camp programs and schedules.
• Ensure safety procedures and ACA/DCY standards are followed throughout the season.
• Coordinate with Aquatics for lifeguards and waterfront activities; oversee grounds and facilities.
