Job summary

A community-focused nonprofit organization in Harleysville seeks Summer Camp Counselors for the 2025 Camp Seasons. Counselors will ensure a safe and healthy environment while planning and implementing engaging activities for youth. Salary

$14-$19 per hour

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe and healthy environment, both physically and mentally, to ensure the operation of a quality program
• Plans and implements program curriculum in a developmentally appropriate manner, meeting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the participants
• Provides careful, attentive supervision of all youth; alert at all times
• Reinforce positive behaviors, teach proper sportsmanship, and bring enthusiasm to every camp day
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrates professional behavior and understands positive youth development approaches to the social development of participants
• Facilitates a program environment that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children
• Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship‑building skills in all interactions
• Communicates effectively with staff and parents on a regular basis
• Sets up for and cleans up after all camp activities

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or GED required, a Degree in Education or Human Services preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience required.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• All staff must obtain background clearances in accordance with Pennsylvania law
• Adult/Pediatric First aid, CPR, AED Certified
• Enjoyment from working with children and keeping positive relationships with their parents in high energy athletic environments
