Job summary

RSM invites a Summer 2026 Audit Associate intern to work with diverse clients across industries. You will learn the RSM audit approach, assess risks, and perform substantive tests to help draft financial statements. Travel to client locations is required and encouraged to gain hands-on experience in real-world audits.

The internship emphasizes teamwork, client service, and strong communication. A 3.0 GPA is preferred; relocation or commuting to multiple sites may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited university by the time employment commences.
• Accounting major.
• Travel to assigned client locations is required; access to reliable transportation is needed.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understanding clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues
• Developing an understanding of the RSM audit approach and tools
• Assessing risks and evaluating the client's internal control structure
• Performing substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues
• Drafting financial statements under prescribed formats
