Job summary

State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB) invites applications for a Summer Analyst internship in Madison, WI. This 10-week program offers hands-on experience in credit investing with a primary focus on High Yield and Leveraged Loans within the Fixed Income Strategies Group.

You will perform financial analysis, build models, and learn across strategies with teams in Structured Products, Investment Grade, Rates, and Trading.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
• Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting fundamentals.
• Interest in fixed income markets, credit, and related tools.
• Familiarity with AI tools and interest in AI-enabled workflows.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; exposure to major financial platforms is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; collaborative work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial and credit analysis of high‑yield and leveraged loan investments.
• Use AI and automation tools to streamline elements of the investment process.
• Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support investment recommendations.
• Prepare written research, credit memos, and verbal presentations for senior staff.
• Learn and participate in the investment process including due diligence and monitoring.
• Stay current on market, industry, and company developments impacting credit risk.
• Participate in cross‑strategy learning with Structured Products, Investment Grade, Rates, and Trading teams.
