Job summary

State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB) in Madison invites an undergraduate or graduate student to join its Funds Alpha Team as a summer intern. The role offers exposure to due diligence across hedge funds and beta-one managers, with mentoring by a lead analyst and weekly manager meetings.

You will work up to 40 hours a week for about 10 weeks, starting late May or early June 2027, in person. Ideal candidates are pursuing Finance or Economics, have familiarity with FactSet or eVestment, and

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Finance, Economics, or a related business field.
• Willingness to work in Madison, WI for up to 10 weeks.
• Familiarity with FactSet or eVestment; strong Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Interest in asset allocation and manager due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Assist analysts with hedge fund and beta-one manager due diligence through quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Develop skills in performance evaluation, trading analysis, and risk assessment.
• Present findings in team meetings and help with negotiations to align managers with SWIB goals.
• Support portfolio and firm-level projects; help with ad hoc analyses and capstone research.
