Job summary

The State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB) is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to conduct in-depth fundamental credit analysis across high yield and leveraged loans, inform investment decisions, and support portfolio construction.

Based in Madison with a hybrid work model, you will lead research, produce reports, and collaborate with portfolio managers and traders to identify relative value opportunities in below-investment-grade debt.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leveraged finance analytics with strong modeling skills.
• Proven ability to identify relative value opportunities in below-investment-grade debt.
• Strong understanding of credit markets, capital structures and distress situations.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, Aladdin or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform investment research including credit analysis and financial modeling.
• Evaluate relative value across bonds, loans and other credit instruments.
• Monitor portfolio holdings and provide ongoing risk assessments.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers on trade ideas and positioning.
• Engage with traders on market dynamics and new issues.
• Track market trends and macro factors affecting credit markets.
• Generate written research reports and present investment recommendations.
• Maintain relationships with sell-side analysts and company management.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior analysts.
• Partner with quantitative and tech teams to enhance research platforms.
