TDIndustries, Inc. is seeking a motivated Construction Project Manager Intern for a Summer 2027 internship to gain hands-on experience in project management from inception to completion.

You will support planning, executing, and monitoring project activities under the guidance of the project management team. Locations are throughout the Fort Worth, TX area with a May 31st – August 6th, 2027 schedule (10 weeks).

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous internship or experience in project management or related fields is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Shadowing & Learning: Work closely with experienced project managers to observe and participate in daily tasks that ensure the successful initiation, management, and completion of large-scale projects.
  • Business Acumen Development: Delve into critical project management topics, including estimating and bidding jobs, contract management, submittals, RFIs, change orders, financial reporting, and other essential project lifecycle activities.
  • Site Visits & Collaboration: Accompany superintendents on quality walks and participate in project team meetings to understand on-site operations and team dynamics.
  • Project Coordination: Gain foundational knowledge in project costs, material tracking, and project coordination; review drawings and identify potential conflicts between trades.
  • Hands-On Experience: Grow project management and engineering skills through practical application.
  • Summer Project: Complete a culminating project presentation to corporate leadership.
  • Construction Drawing Analysis: Analyze construction drawings to create actionable field plans.
  • Financial Forecasting Support: Review project estimates and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Vendor Communication: Interface with TDI vendors for submittals and procurement processes.
  • Familiarization with Documentation: Learn submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Engagement in Meetings: Attend VDC and other project meetings to understand objectives and timelines.

  • Engagement in Meetings:Attend Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) meetings, team meetings, and all project planning sessions to familiarize yourself with project objectives and timelines.

Minimum Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Mechanical Engineering.
