Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Technology Services Intern to gain hands-on experience implementing IT solutions within a fast-paced data center environment. You will engage with SMEs to document processes, analyze efficiencies, and assist the team with daily activities.

Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant field and demonstrate solid MS Office skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Connect with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to capture daily processes.
• Map out findings and analyze for efficiencies and gaps.
• Identify advanced approaches with leadership.
• Assist Technology team with day-to-day activities.
• Develop scopes of work for design, configuration, and commissioning services.

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.

Technology Intern

The Technology Services Intern will gain valuable experience in implementing IT/technology solutions across the organization. Roles and responsibilities will include, but aren't limited to:

• Connect with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to capture their daily processes and procedures

• Take holistic approach with leaders to identify advanced and new approaches
• Assist the Technology team with other day-to-day activities and responsibilities.
• Develop scopes of work for design, configuration, and commissioning services.

Basic Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred degree for project work would be Industrial Engineering
• Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:
  • Auburn University
  • Kansas State University
  • Georgia State University
  • Southern Adventist University
  • Texas A&M University
  • University of Kansas
• Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
• Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
