Job summary

Ally Financial is offering a Technology internship designed to propel students from education to professional experience. Interns will engage with diverse teams across the country, gaining hands-on experience in cybersecurity, data analysis, and risk management while learning from senior leaders.

  • Majoring in cybersecurity or another relevant field.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Available for the full duration of the internship program.
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Ally's Technology teams to support security initiatives and risk management.
  • Analyze security logs and dashboards to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Assist with project-based security improvements and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with mentors and leaders to develop technical and professional skills.

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Work Itself

Interning within Technology means being part of a team that is dedicated to enabling growth, remaining diligent about security, embracing solutions for all lines of business and leveraging data as an asset. Throughout the duration of the 11-week program, you'll have the ability to hone your skills in analytical thinking, technical adaptability, and risk management to name a few. Typically, interns are matched with a specific team and manager in mid‑spring. Doing so offers the ability to assign program participants to real‑time, business critical needs. You could be on a Cybersecurity team within IPRM: Information Protection & Risk Management. IPRM Administers and executes information protection, disaster recovery, and tech risk management. IPRM is designed to ensure that the technology and information assets Ally relies on are recoverable, secured and protected in compliance with various state, federal and international regulations and laws. Some examples of previous works/projects throughout multiple teams within IPRM include but not limited to: Optimization of analytical dashboards for security logs events, Reversed engineer potential insider threats.

Required qualifications.

Rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program or actively pursuing a Master's program. Majoring in cybersecurity or other relevant field of study required. Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrates learning agility, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and technical acumen. Available for the full duration of the internship program. Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future.

Preferred qualifications.

Previous tech internship experience or relevant tech project work is preferred. Extracurricular activities/leadership experience is preferred (student organizations, volunteering, sports, part‑time roles, hackathons, etc.).
