West Bend Insurance Company in West Bend, Wisconsin, is offering a Claims Intern - Summer 2027. You’ll work alongside experienced claims professionals, gain hands-on experience investigating real insurance claims, evaluating losses, helping customers, and solving problems.

This in‑office internship emphasizes ownership of property and casualty claims, building relationships with customers, agents, attorneys, and other stakeholders, and learning coverage analysis and claim resolution.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of property and casualty claims from initial review through resolution.
• Build relationships with customers, agents, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders to gather facts and move claims forward.
• Analyze policy language and claim details to determine coverage and next steps.
• Assess liability, damages, and overall claim exposure to support sound claim decisions.
• Contribute to reserve recommendations and help monitor claim trends and outcomes.
• Conduct investigations by reviewing records, interviewing involved parties, gathering statements, and evaluating evidence.
• Partner with claimants and other parties to negotiate fair settlements and achieve timely resolutions.
• Maintain thorough and accurate claim documentation while managing follow‑up activities and key deadlines.
• Develop a strong foundation in claims handling, insurance principles, coverage analysis, and the legal concepts that support effective claim management.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
• Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.

Salary Statement

The hourly pay for this position is $21.00+.
