Job summary

Stryker is seeking a motivated intern for its Ortho Sales team in Houston to gain hands-on exposure to the latest medical technology and frontline customer interactions.

You will shadow Sales Associates and Operations staff, help prepare target accounts and marketing plans, learn selling techniques, assist in kit deliveries and warehouse tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in related field with plans to enroll after summer.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above preferred.
• U.S. permanent resident or citizen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Adaptability to changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Proficient in basic MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated leadership and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Shadow Sales Associates and Operations Team Members to learn branch operations.
• Prepare a project segment to develop a target account list or marketing strategy.
• Learn selling skills and instrument-use techniques with coaching/mentoring support from Sales Representatives and Managers.
• Shadow and assist Drivers with kit deliveries to accounts.
• Assist warehouse staff in assembling and breaking down instrument kits.
• Interact with various teams about products.
• Support Sales and Field Operations on special projects.

What you need

• Currently working oncompletion of Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan to be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer

What you will do

• Shadow Sales Associates, Sales Representatives, and Operations Team Members to gain insight into all aspects of the branch; Attend and/or prepare a sales presentation
• Prepare a project segment that develops a target account list and or development of a marketing potential or strategy
• Learn selling skills, processes, and instrument use techniques by coaching/mentoring support from Sales Representatives, Sales Associates and Sales Managers
• Shadow and assist Team Member Drivers with the delivery of kits to and from account
• Assist Team Members in warehouse in assembling and breaking down instrument kits, preparing products for surgery, etc.
• Interact with various teams concerning the products
• Assist Sales and Field Operations Teams with special projects as assigned

$20 min hourly wage – $35 max hourly wage, sign-on bonus, 11 paid holidays annually, and either paid corporate housing or a living stipend, dependent upon hiring location
