Job summary

The Silver Lining is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to collaborate with business areas in a fast-paced agile environment in West Bend, WI or Madison, WI. You will predict risk, optimize customer retention, detect anomalies, and enhance process efficiencies using internal and third‑party data.

You will gain hands-on experience with insurance risk, claims and retention models, data visualization, and model development using generalized linear models as well as machine learning and AI techniques,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or Data Science related major.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will work collaboratively with the business areas in a fast‑paced agile environment to predict risk, optimize customer retention, detect anomalies, and enhance process efficiencies using internal and third‑party data. You will have the opportunity to have hands‑on experience with insurance risk, claims and retention models, data visualization, model development using generalized linear models as well as machine learning and AI techniques.

Work Location

This position is an in‑office role located in West Bend, WI or Madison, WI. No remote opportunities for this position are available at this time.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Preferred Education:

• Pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or Data Science related major
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
