Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Denver, Colorado invites you to apply for the Summer 2027 Estimating Intern role.

You’ll support the estimating team on projects with hands-on quantity surveying and sub-trade coordination in Denver, our US headquarters since 1975. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in drafting, estimating tech, or construction management, with willingness to learn On-Screen Takeoff, Excel and Revit.

Qualifications

• Desire a career in construction Project Management, Field Supervision, or Estimating.
• Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, Excel, Word, Revit, Acrobat, or similar software.
• Effective verbal and written communication with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and owners.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications and perform quantity take offs.
• Must be authorized to work in the US and be 18+; Denver, CO availability May–August.
• Substance abuse test required.

Responsibilities

• Review and perform quantity survey tasks with the lead estimator.
• Assist with general sub-trade solicitation duties.
• Bid document control responsibilities.
• Attend bid day assignments.
• Conduct sub-trade bid reviews and recaps.
• Visit job sites periodically and use BEST Estimating software.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors.

Here’s how a Summer 2027 Estimating Intern for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within Denver contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

• Review and perform quantity survey assignment with lead estimator
• Performs general sub-trade solicitation duties

Qualifications

• Desire a career in construction Project Management, Field Supervision, or Estimating.
• Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Any experience using the following; On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Excel and Word, Revit, Acrobat, and other computer software
• Required to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and owners
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, and perform quantity take offs
• Must be authorized to work in the US *PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H1-B, etc.) for this position
• 18 years of age or older
• Available to work in Denver, CO, full time from May to August
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.

The salary range for this position is between $22 and $28 an hour, based on experience and qualifications.
