Job summary

HDR, Inc. invites applications for an Industrial Environmental Intern (Summer 2027).

You will work under a senior engineer/scientist guidance to support permit applications, air emission estimates, SWPPP, SPCC plans, and environmental site assessments, while gaining hands-on experience on real projects and data collection. The role emphasizes problem-solving, communication, and collaboration in a employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Preference for local candidates.
• Prefer 2+ years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques on real projects including field data collection, figure/graphic preparation and report writing.
• Assist in development of permit applications, air emission estimates, SWPPP, SPCC plans and environmental site assessments under supervision.
• Participate in mentoring and young professionals programs.
• Perform other duties as needed.
