Job summary

John Burns Real Estate Consulting, LLC invites applications for a Summer 2027 Internship in Building Products Consulting in Chicago, IL. This in-person internship offers real-time client projects, a capstone project, and a final presentation at the end of the 10-week program.

Interns will work 40 hours per week in our Chicago office and receive compensation at $25/hour. Start dates include late May and mid-June 2026, with postings and deadlines outlined in the program timeline.

Qualifications

• Rising seniors or graduate students (Spring 2027–Spring 2028).
• Major GPA 3.3 or higher.
• Preferred fields: Economics, Finance, Real Estate.
• Proficiency in Excel; Tableau a plus; Python/R preferred.
• Strong writing to convey analysis clearly.

Responsibilities

• Work with proprietary and external databases tracking housing markets.
• Research topics like migration, affordability, construction, remodeling to support projects.
• Analyze market trends in building products (windows, siding, HVAC).
• Support research on material substitution trends and share-of-wallet analysis for building product manufacturers and PE investors.
• Capstone project with final presentation at internship conclusion.
