Job summary

Article Student Living invites you to its 2027 Design Internship, a 12-week program running May 24, 2027 to Aug 12, 2027, in Chicago. You will join the Development team to assist from concept to completion and gain hands-on experience in interiors development and operations support.

You will report to the VP of Design and Strategy. Compensation is $22/hour with on-site work 4–5 days/week and travel up to 10% of the time, offering events and a project presentation at the end.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• Proficiency in Excel (maintain spreadsheets), PowerPoint, and Bluebeam.
• Exposure to student living, multifamily, or hospitality design.
• Proficiency in design software, REVIT or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Support the VP of Design and Strategy in interiors review and conceptualization.
• Document and report interior design project status.
• Collaborate with the design team on analysis and go/no go critiques of consultant designs.
• Review value engineering and propose alternative solutions.
• Conduct internal historical cost analysis on consultants and finishes.
• Interface with external consultants, vendors, and reps on interiors.
• Prepare project materials for meetings and presentations.
• Track actual spend and project costs.
