The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is hiring a Full-Time Suicide Prevention Program Specialist, Program Specialist 3, to join our team in Spokane. You will build community connections, deliver prevention training, expand access to resources, and promote wellness for veterans, service members, and their families across the region.

This fast-paced role requires travel, in-person presence with some hybrid telework options, and a commitment to serving SMVF.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social services, social work, social science, healthcare, or liberal arts/sciences.
Two years of experience in suicide prevention training or familiarity with ASSIST, AMSR, ZERO Suicide.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management tools.
English reading, writing and speaking proficiency.

Responsibilities

Provide hand-offs to community services and resources in the assigned region.
Develop and implement suicide prevention trainings and deliver regional programs.
Deliver regional suicide awareness and prevention trainings.
Maintain online SMVF resources database and support web-based applications.
Support program management activities and reporting of outcomes.
Coordinate with licensing and community partners to promote resources and donations.
