Job summary

United States Sugar Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to lead projects from idea to scope, including PFD, P&ID, and cost estimates. You’ll become the technical resource for operations and maintenance and support commissioning and training.

The role emphasizes environmental/health/safety, quality and food safety, and financial performance through effective project execution and improvements to equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years of engineering and project management experience in sugar operations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and project management software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Leadership and teamwork capabilities.
• Knowledge of the sugar refining process is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: oversee engineering projects from concept to completion within time and budget.
• Design and Development: collaborate to design solutions improving operations and reliability.
• Collaboration: coordinate with operations, maintenance and safety teams.
• Technical Support: provide engineering support to operations and maintenance.
• Compliance and Standards: ensure activities meet environmental and safety guidelines.
• Budget Management: prepare scope, estimates, monitor spending, control costs.
• Documentation: maintain schematics, manuals, and safety guidelines.
• Vendor Management: liaise with vendors and on-site contractors to meet standards.
• Innovation and Improvement: pursue process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
