Job summary

United States Sugar Corporation in Clewiston, FL is seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering projects from concept through completion, focusing on safety, quality, and financial performance. You will work with operations, maintenance and safety teams to define scopes, prepare PFD/P&ID, develop budgets, and drive improvements across environmental, health and safety, and process reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical.
10+ years of experience in project engineering within manufacturing or refinery settings.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and project management tools; knowledge of PFD/P&ID design.

Responsibilities

Project Management: oversee engineering projects from concept to completion within time and budget.
Design and Development: collaborate on solutions to improve operations and reliability.
Collaboration: coordinate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams.
Technical Support: provide engineering input to abate issues in daily refinery operations.
Compliance and Standards: ensure activities meet EH&S and regulatory guidelines.
Budget Management: prepare scopes and budgets, monitor costs and variances.
Documentation: produce schematics, operations manuals, and safety guidelines.
Vendor Management: liaise with vendors and on-site contractors to ensure quality.
Innovation and Improvement: drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
