Job summary

Michigan Sugar Company, Sebewaing Factory, is seeking a Sugar Specialist. This hourly role operates sugar packaging equipment and loads bulk sugar trailers to customers’ specifications while meeting regulatory and Safe Quality Food requirements.

Candidates should be able to take forklift training and drive when required; prior production experience and basic computer skills are preferred; strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Production experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills daily; learn the Rapid system.
• Must learn, follow & promote all AIB, SQF & GMP quality system guidelines and safety practices.
• Ability to lift 50–70 lbs and work indoors or outdoors.
• Must maintain a valid forklift license.
• Ability to work any shift and weekend overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Fill and measure bulk sugar trailers and rail cars.
• Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet requirements.
• Complete required documentation; operate computers; adjust machine programming as needed.
• Set up and operate sugar tote filling machine.
• Support powdered sugar mill operations to produce quality products.
• Report problems to team leader to resolve quickly.
• Follow all safety practices and procedures for assigned tasks.
• Other duties may be assigned by supervision.
