Overview

KCI Technologies, Inc. is an employee‑owned engineering, consulting, and construction firm serving clients across the United States. We are seeking a SUE Technician III in Dallas, Texas to operate and maintain equipment, locate underground utilities, and support the Subsurface Utility Engineering process.

Location

Dallas, TX (US‑TX‑Dallas)

Duties

• Operate and maintain a vacuum excavation truck and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Designate and locate a variety of underground utilities, create legible field sketches and conduct field measurements, record daily activities, and conduct records research.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

• Minimum of 2–4 years in utility locating or designating using various piping and cable locating devices.
• Experience with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) preferred.
• Understanding of basic traffic control and hazards associated with working in and around traffic.
• Experience with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), surveying, CADD, and vacuum excavation truck a plus.

Skills

• Ability to follow instructions and to be trained; positive, can‑do attitude.
• Leadership and mentoring skills.
• Basic knowledge of underground utilities and ability to identify surface features.
• Capable of performing some equipment maintenance; mechanical aptitude desired.

Degrees & Licenses

• High School Diploma required.
• Valid current driver's license; must obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial Motor Vehicle operation.
• Current Commercial Driver's License a plus.
• NULCA or other certification a plus.
