Job summary

JBPro in North Florida is seeking a SUE Technician II to independently perform utility records research, surface-feature investigation, and geophysical designation. You will collect reliable subsurface data, document field results, and may coordinate a small crew with supervision escalation as needed.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, locating utilities with EM locators and GPR, supporting vacuum excavation, marking utilities, and maintaining safe work zones.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in SUE, private utility locating, utility construction, surveying or related field.
• Hands-on skill with electromagnetic locating equipment.
• Ability to prepare legible field notes, sketches, photos and records.

Responsibilities

• Review utility records and plans; identify gaps and request clarification.
• Locate and designate utilities using locators, GPR, sondes and other methods.
• Support vacuum excavation and test holes.
• Mark utilities with color codes per project requirements.
• Record positions, depths, photos and field attributes.
• Maintain safe work zones and traffic control per plans.
• Inspect equipment and maintain tools and vehicles.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and utility reps; report hazards and scope changes.
• Mentor newer technicians in field documentation and locating practices.
