Job summary

CobbFendley Inc. in Austin seeks an experienced SUE Technician to support subsurface utility engineering projects. You will produce plan/profile drawings, interpret survey notes, and prepare base drawings in a hybrid office setting.

The role emphasizes CAD proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D, adherence to QA/QC standards, and collaboration with project teams to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD drafting and plan/profile drawings.
• Ability to interpret survey notes and civil plans.
• Familiarity with utility symbols and base drawings.

Responsibilities

• Plan Production — support PMs with technical design tasks and generate drawings.
• QA/QC — apply procedures and ensure compliance with standards.
• Communication — collaborate with supervisors and staff on drafting practices.
• Training — develop skills interpreting survey data and utility records.
• Client/internal satisfaction — meet client standards and project guidelines.
• Technical — provide CAD support for Subsurface Utility Engineering projects using MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D.
