Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) CAD Technician to join our Transportation & Infrastructure team in Texas. You will prepare CAD drawings, map utilities, and support survey activities for transportation projects across Texas, with Midlothian as the primary location.

We value 2–5 years of CAD experience, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads, and a commitment to QA/QC and collaborative problem-solving. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years CAD experience in infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation and OpenRoads preferred.
• Knowledge of utility mapping, survey data, and QA/QC processes.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to visit project sites as needed and grow SUE knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CAD drawings and deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation for SUE, utility mapping, survey, and transportation projects.
• Develop utility and topographic mapping from field data, records research, survey information, and project requirements.
• Support office survey activities and drafting in accordance with STV standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Perform utility records research, office computations, and QA/QC reviews to support deliverables.
• Prepare finished deliverables for SUE Quality Levels A–D, including mapping and exhibits.
• Coordinate with project managers, field crews, engineers, and staff to communicate progress and support delivery.
