Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a SUE Field Technician II for our Austin or San Antonio offices. The role focuses on locating and characterizing subsurface utilities using GPR and electromagnetic tools, with a two-person crew and potential travel.

You will read plans, mark utilities, and document field data while coordinating with project teams. A minimum of two years in SUE is required, with strong safety and communication skills expected.

Qualifications

• Two years of SUE utility designating and locating experience.
• Ability to read construction plans and utility records.
• Familiarity with APWA color codes and ASCE 38-22 standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain utility locating equipment (GPR, locators, vacuum excavation).
• Conduct locating and designation to identify and mark underground utilities.
• Work in two-person crews and travel to project sites as needed.
• Read maps and plans and prepare field sketches and reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Adhere to safety policies and wear PPE.
